Why Schools Need This Now
Each September, schools welcome pupils who can read aloud but struggle with the Tier 2 and 3 vocabulary that drives success across English, science, history, and geography.
With Year 8 reading assessments approaching, leaders will need to evidence measurable literacy progress at KS3.
See the difference a Morphology First spine makes: with Word Roots, pupils secure 250+ high-utility words by the end of Year 7, giving them the language to access the full curriculum.

The Word Roots Model
Word Roots equips pupils with a generative toolkit through 31 Core Roots.
Each half term introduces six new roots, reinforced across English, science, history, geography, and maths. This ensures vocabulary learning is durable, transferable, and curriculum-aligned.
